Aerial Visions of New England
Visiting New England for two weeks during a global pandemic meant planning, planning, planning! Carefully timed Covid-19 tests, double-masked flights, and as much outdoor and hiking time as the available late-fall light allowed.
‘Social distance’ photography proved an ideal drone flight environment. On the plane, I carried on my DJI Mavic Pro 2 (with my new FAA compliant Firehouse Technology Arc V 3 light navigation strobes) and set to photographing Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Maine from above.
Overall I was most inspired by the estuaries and salt marshes shot around the western half of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Sometimes, it takes a major shift in vantage point to really appreciate the marsh origins of this vacation mainstay of the uber wealthy.
